Description
The Ethiopia – Uraga Raro – Mixed Heirloom – Washed Arabica is a beautiful Ethiopian specialty coffee from the high-altitude region of Uraga, in southern Guji, one of the country’s most renowned coffee areas. The coffee is produced at and around the Raro washing station, where hundreds of small farmers deliver their hand-picked coffee cherries.
The beans come from mixed heirloom varieties – local, indigenous Arabica plants that have naturally adapted over generations to the unique terroir of the region. At an altitude of 2,000 to 2,200 meters above sea level, the cherries ripen slowly in a cool microclimate, contributing to a clean, complex, and refined flavor profile.
The coffee is processed washed, a method in which the pulp is completely removed and the beans are fermented and washed. This highlights the purity of flavor, the floral aromas, and the sparkling acidity that is typical of the best coffees from Ethiopia.
